10 Zip Codes Project
LEAD.NYC and the Cinnamon Network U.S. partnered together through the 10 Zip Codes Project which aims at addressing four key areas of cyclical poverty within ten of the most vulnerable zip codes across the New York metro area.
Objective
Strengthen a network of community collaborators and nonprofits through strategic planning, recruitment, training, and research.
Approach
We engaged with over 100 grassroots organizations and nonprofits in the New York metro area, building strong relationships through collaborative efforts such as community outreach, grant distribution, training, staff & event management–all aimed at addressing poverty in the most heavily affected zip codes in the city.
We acted as a liaison for the NYC Mayor’s Clergy Advisory Council, a key stakeholder in the project.
Our commitment to connecting with the nonprofit and community network, including activities like asset mapping and research efforts, allowed us to surpass fundraising goals by $500K.
